Make
a Donation:
Rasulullah
s.a.w. said:
"A man giving a dirham as sadaqah
(charity) during his life is better than giving one hundred dirhams
as sadaqah (charity) at the moment of his death."
(Abu Dawud)
MIQ provides opportunities for all to make a mark in their lives
through sadaqah. It is a matter of simple
planning and rearranging our priorities to be able to stay within
the league of givers, even during harsh economic times.
Every single contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way
in helping MIQ achieve its mission and vision, through projects
and programs - solely for the benefit of the ummah.
Make a donation - on your own behalf or that of a loved one. Let's
hasten towards goodness.
You
can make your contributions at the MIQ counter office during opening
hours by cash, cheque or Nets. For other modes, please call us at
62814287.
MIQ
needs your support for the following projects and programs:
|
|
|
During
the 4 years since it began operation, based on exhaustive in-house
studies, it was found that certain areas in the mosque require upgrading
or repair. These are:
*
awning all around the perimeter of level 1
* ceramic tiling on the entire car park area
* permanent shoe racks strategically located near the entrances
* renovation of entire rooftop
* others incl. plumbing system, fencing, etc.
The renovation works have
been deliberately lumped into a single project to minimise cost
and timed to be of as little inconvenience as possible to the students
and general jemaah of the mosque.
In all, the project costs about $350,000.
Indeed, this necessary project is being undertaken purely in
the jemaah's best interest. As
such, MIQ relies heavily on the direct support of the jemaah for
its funding.
The breakdown above will provide donors with the opportunity to
select their 'jariah sector' for specific dividends of their spiritual
investments (e.g. if a donor specifies his contribution as part
of the funding for ceramic tiling of the car park area, he will
surely get the thawab everytime the area is used for syarahans,
iftar, etc.). On the other hand, donors may simply wish to give
on a generic basis.
Either way, MIQ hopes the jemaah will play a major role in the success
of this project.

| 'Rakan
Masjid' Project (Friends of MIQ) |
The
'Rakan Masjid' Project reaches out to just about anyone within the
community not necessarily within the vicinity of the mosque. It
invites corporate firms of any size, families and individuals to
be an integral part of the fund development unit of MIQ by pledging
a stated amount to the MIQ fund on a monthly basis.
Not only will participants not feel the apparent "pinch"
normally associated with unplanned contributions, but also be able
to uphold the hadith that enjoins constancy in deeds, viz.
"The deed loved most by
Allah is that which is consistent even if it be a little."
This is made possible through the MIQ computerised Giro payment
system established in late 2002. Donors in this scheme need only
submit a completed MIQ Giro
form and state the amount and regularity pledged.
The MIQ Giro form is
available at the counter office or can be mailed on request. For
the on-line version (PDF format), click here.

Maksom or En Sahlan Siregar at 62814287 or email info@alistiqamah.mosque.org.sg

| Kad
Rawal (Ramadan/Shawwal Donation Drive) |
This
is a yearly project launched just before Ramadan to collect donations
to supplement the fund that is set aside for the Education department.
In line with its mission statement, MIQ places priority in providing
a high standard of education for its jemaah. The fees imposed on the
students participating in the various courses and classes are not
expected to make a profit against the expenses involved. MIQ therefore
relies on the good graces of the jemaah and public not only to give,
but to assist by spreading the donation card around.
Although the project is so-named, it normally extends to well beyond
Shawwal, even close to the next Ramadan.
The Rawal donation cards are available at the MIQ counter office between
8:30 am - 10:30 pm. Simply provide your name, NRIC no, address and
contact number.

further information on this project, please call Cik Siti Sainab Abdul
Wahid or Hjh Zuraida Mustafa at 62814287 or email info@alistiqamah.mosque.org.sg

The
costs of operating the mosque may be categorised into the following:
-
Administration - MIQ is one of the
few mosques in Singapore to operate its administration office
for the jemaah 7 days a week (including public holidays) from
8:30 am to 10:30 pm. This is to facilitate the consummation of
transactions such as zakat payment, registration for courses,
fees payment, item sales and even general enquiries during hours
convenient to the jemaah.
- Utilities
- Although the Muslim population in the surrounding area of MIQ
is considered low-moderate, its daily programs attract jemaah
from all over the island, making the power and water usage high.
- Others-
Regular, seasonal and 'one-off' activities, refreshments, allowances,
etc.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Every
year for Ramadan, MIQ provides the following for the jemaah:
-
Bubur Ramadan - Cost: $500 per day
for the entire month.
- Buka
Puasa - Cost: $300 per day for the entire month.
- Sahur
- Cost: $450 per day for the last 10 days of the month.
- Miscellaneous
- Imam terawih/asatizah allowance, additional refreshments, technical
equipment, etc.

| Sponsorship
for MIQ Newsletter ('Suara Al-Istiqamah') |
The
free quarterly MIQ newsletter ('Suara Al-Istiqamah') is into its
fourth year of publication and has proven to be a major channel
of communication between the mosque administration and the jemaah.
Among the contents are religious articles, reports on the different
departments, calendar of events, and even contests.
It costs about $2,500 to produce each issue of SI, with a circulation
of 5,000 copies.
Again, in terms of funding, MIQ hopes this will be a direct 'for-the-jemaah-by-the-jemaah'
project, with MIQ acting as the middle party. Its only other source
of income for this project is through advertisement which can cover
only about 10-15% of the cost.
For further information on this project, please call Hj Mohd Saat
Matari or Hj Sahlan Siregar at 62814287 or email info@alistiqamah.mosque.org.sg
